Further selection of shops and restaurants in the riverside village of Chaniers 10 min drive where river boats can be hired to discover other picturesque towns: Taillebourg whose inhabitants defeated the English during the Hundred Years' War and St Savinien with colourful houses directly on the waterside are within 45 min drive. Saintes, the Roman capital of Aquitaine with beautiful abbey and breathtaking arena is only 20 min drive, and Cognac with its distilleries a similar distance. Golf and riding within 20 min drive. International airports: la Rochelle 94 km/Bordeaux 125 km.
