Nearest shop and tennis in historic village of Rouffignac, 10 min drive. Wider selection of shops, supermarkets and aquarium can be found in Le Bugue 16 km. The bustling town of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac 10 km - sometimes known as ‘the world capital of prehistory’ - offers many attractions and is the home of the first-known bones of ‘homo sapiens’. You can visit ‘the cave of one hundred mammoths’ and the sinister-looking Château de l’Herm, both near Rouffignac. In the dramatic scenery along the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, visit the many caves (“grottes”) in over-hanging cliffs such as La Roque Saint-Christophe, stunning châteaux such as Beynac, and go canoeing at many locations. The wonderful medieval town of Sarlat, 32 km, is a must, as is Lascaux II, the world famous painted cave (both within 30 min drive). Golf at Belvès, 35 min drive. International airports Bergerac 66 km/Bordeaux 162 km.
