Just 10 min walk to sandy beach at Ronce, with local shops and restaurants as well as watersports, bike hire and tennis. Horseriding at Les Mathes, 15 min drive. Lively resorts and beautiful beaches all along the Côte Sauvage offering a range of seaside activities. Enjoy a trip to the popular Ile d’Oléron, 20 min drive, with its famous Zoo de Palmyre and a choice of prime Atlantic beaches and seafood restaurants. Royan, 30 km has golf, shopping, beaches, restaurants, nightlife, boat trips and a car ferry to the Gironde, where you can visit the Médoc vineyards. Sophisticated La Rochelle, 55 km. has a pretty fortified harbour with waterfront cafés, boutiques, gourmet restaraunts, and a superb aquarium. A causeway takes you to the beautiful Ile de Ré. An interesting day trip to Cognac, 77 km, with its distillieries, and historic Saintes, 55 km, is worthwhile, and the exciting Futuroscope theme park is 2 hours’ drive. International airports: La Rochelle 55 km/ Bordeaux 172 km. TGV at Angouleme (1h 30 drive).
