La Molineta - El Molino Viejo

Nestling against a backdrop of hills between Nerja (4km) and Frigiliana (1km) La Molineta is a 300 year old watermill in a small hamlet of houses within a surrounding wall and has recently been declared a ‘Protected Property of Outstanding Attraction’ by the Spanish authorities. Lovingly restored over the last 40 years each of the 8 houses has its own individual character and furnishings much superior to the usual holiday villa. It has been featured in several interior design magazines and the larger houses in particular are furnished with antiques fine paintings and other works of art. The houses are entirely private from each other and are on different levels linked by a series of steps and pathways. The beautiful terraced gardens are a special feature of La Molineta and are full of colour scented shrubs and fruit trees. Each has its own private garden BBQ and terrace and 7 of the 8 houses have their own pools. Wood burning stoves are provided for cooler evenings. The houses can be booked individually by couples or families or 2 or more houses can be taken together by a larger party. There is ample parking to one side of the hamlet whilst El Molino Viejo has its own space adjacent to the house. El Molino Viejo (or The Old Mill) is reached by a steep pathway (accessible by a small car) El Molino stands at the back of the hamlet and has been converted into a spacious light and most unusual house with a delightful shaded garden and separate infinity-style swimming pool (9m x 3.5m depth 1.1m to 2m) area with classical summer house and sun terraces with sea views. Inside there is a lounge with satellite TV DVD and CD player and doors opening onto the garden and dining terrace separate dining hall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are 2 double and 1 twin bedrooms all with ensuite bathroom or shower/WC plus a further double bedroom with bathroom and private patio (and access to the garden) downstairs. with so much space both inside and out El Molino is the perfect holiday home. There is a gate at the far side of the garden which leads to La Media Luna (SSN012) - ideal for two families travelling together although the two houses are quite separate and completely private. Cleaning twice weekly with linen changed weekly. Saturday changeover.
